I am trying to replace a Larson half screen door. Only 9 month old screen came apart and I need to replace it. Larson sent me the replacement part with insturction which is hard to follow. The main porblem I have is removing or sliding off the old screen so I can put in the new one. How do you do it? Do I need to take apart the entire screen door to install the new screen? Pleaes help.

I also have a EMCO 4000 series storm door. The door was a little tricky to install myself but not too difficult. My problem is with replacing the screen. I removed those plastic strips (damaged them of course), bought a new screen, and attempted to replace the plastic strips to hold the screen in...for over an hour!!! Why couldnt they just use the same material as every other door and window company does? I called EMCO and for $17 plus S&H, I can get a new set of strips and screen. The problem is that I don't want the same cheap screen they sent with the door so basically I'd be paying $17 for the plastic strips. The good thing is that you can call them for replacement parts. Other than the screen replacement issue, I am happy with the door itself and have had it over 3 years now and I'm in N.H. so it's been exposed to some pretty tough weather.

Have had a Larson storm door for 3 years now. Every year I absolutely DREAD changing the glass to the screen. The plastic retaining strips are a joke. I have never felt the need to post a comment on any product before...but this is ridiculous. Nice job Larson. Nice job. Hire some engineers next time. I agree with Bob. Poor instructions and a poorly designed product.

Is there any answer to Bob Cochand's 7/29/09 post? I too have a crappy Forever Door screen that is horrifically warped and useless, but I cannot find a replacement anywhere. I really don't feel like replacing the entire door just to replace their shitty screen insert.
